Therapeutic Exercise

Therapeutic Exercise refers to a wide variety of physical activities that focuses on restoring and maintaining strength, endurance, flexibility, stability, and balance.  Strengthening is a key component of human physical therapy, and dogs can also benefit from the same applied principles.  Targeted strengthening can help decrease compensatory strategies to help improve your dog’s mobility and prevent further injuries.  Therapeutic exercise programs are beneficial for both neurologic and orthopedic recovery.  Physical activity and exercise, as like for humans, can have immediate and long-term health benefits.  Most importantly, regular activity for all dogs, including our geriatric population, can improve quality of life.

A wide variety of equipment will be used:  Calvaletti Poles, Rocker Boards, Balance Discs, Physioballs/Peanuts, Stairs, TheraBand’s, and more!  Each exercise is targeted towards helping your pet’s specific needs.

Cleveland K9 Rehab’s goal and the goal of therapeutic exercises is to return an injured loved one, in this case, your furry friend, to a fully functioning, pain-free state.
